Smith, Tollefson & Rahrick's
attorneys have litigated a number of cases under statutes protecting consumer rights,
including significant and precedent-setting cases involving Minnesotas comprehensive
consumer protection statutes.
Many smaller disputes can be handled by the
parties themselves in small claims court. In appropriate cases, the Consumer Affairs
Division of the Minnesota Attorney Generals Office will handle consumer scams, and
the Minnesota Department of Commerce will bring actions involving unlawful practices by
insurers, realtors, and investment advisors and sellers of securities. For more
